1. What prior experience does MSI have?

2. Is MSI licensed?

MSI requires every UAV operator in our teams to have a Part 107 certification before flying for any commercial purpose.

3. Can MSI perform the specific task or project you’re requesting?

MSI’s capabilities and qualifications related to the task your company is looking to complete, will be questions and addressed thoroughly in the initial focus of your consultation. If your company has already determined what they’d like to accomplish, MSI will address and set key performance indicators that will need to be in place prior to MSI completes its analysis of your project.

4. What programs and/or processes will MSI use to carry out desired tasks?

Depending on type of task you request the processes MSI would bring in a may be compatible or exceed what you currently have in place. A change in one area can lead to wasted time and resources, which is what is mitigated through MSI’s analytical process.

5. How will MSI process the data they collect? What will the “final product” look like when your team receives it?

Having a clear expectation for the format in which you’d like to receive the product, or data will make it easier to determine whether MSI can help you meet your needs. Are you looking for a high resolution GeoTiff with a specified accuracy? Or a PDF or JPEG? Do you want a digital surface model (DSM)? Or are you just looking for annotated images? Here at MSI you will be approached with similar questioning, so please be as specific as possible to avoid quality issues and disputes.

6. Is MSI insured? If so, what does their coverage look like?

Since coverage needs vary depending on your geographic location, industry, and the type of job at hand, MSI is fully insured. At MSI we adapt to our projects, our insurance provider can make adjustments to our coverage within the hour to reflect what is needed for a COI for your project.

7. What do MSI’s safety procedures look like?

How does MSI factor the surrounding area weather, etc. into flights? What type of risk assessments are used to conducting, and what types of procedures do we recommend for the type of work we’d be doing for your company? at MSI we comply with all OSHA and FAA safety guidelines. Pending the nature of your project, and the results of the project analysis MSI may add additional safety procedures to the project.

8. What equipment will we be using?

From the type of drone to the camera lens quality, any and every type of equipment should be considered when choosing a drone partner for your project. If MSI does not have a certain piece of equipment, we need to complete your job as identified in the project analysis, MSI will acquire, familiarize, and adapt your assigned team to the equipment.

9. What do MSI’s maintenance procedures look like?

Regular maintenance and inspections on equipment, along with reviews of SOP’s & safety procedures from completed projects are important for flight safety and can prevent costly events down the line.

10. What is the price for the drone services?

Inexperienced companies will likely charge low prices as they are eager to gain experience, however the risk you run is that the quality might not be up to par with that of a more experienced drone service provider like MSI. Therefore, the decision makers at your company should have an agreed-upon idea as to the experience and budgetary requirements they have in mind.
